  Traditionally held along Manhattan's Madison Avenue from 23rd to 40th Streets, the Grand Parade, Street Fair and Cultural Show, held on the first Sunday in June each year, is the biggest Philippine Independence celebration outside the Philippines. The festivities include the Diwa ng Kalayaan (beauty and talent contest), Youth Festival, Independence Ball, Consul General's Night, Grand Marshal's Night, other fundraising activities, special cultural presentations and other event.
 


 
  Trained as a traditional illustrator, Ramon Gil entered the workforce in 1991 just as computers were taking over the design world. Today, Ramon services a growing number of clients nationwide while teaching at the Parson School of Design in New York City.
