CORE'S SUMMER PICNIC

There is no charge for this event! But we do ask that you bring or cook your favorite dish to share with other attendees. A CORE volunteer will contact you to coordinate the assignment of food. Friends and family and little children are all invited. Bring your bike, fly your kite, rollerblade down freedom way, bring a volleyball or a frisbee, play some catch or throw a football. Bring your Mommy and your Daddy, your Lola and your Lolo, bring your kids and bring your doggie...and join us for a relaxing, fun time at the park!
There will also be games and activities for everyone. We will coordinate team competitions for the adults and arts/crafts for the children. You may form your own team or join someone else’s. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the day!

Directions to Liberty State Park: (Download Map)
From Newark Penn Station:
- Take the PATH subway to Exchange Place in Jersey City. Then take the Light Rail to Liberty State Park. From there, take the shuttle bus to the ferry slip.
From Hoboken Train / PATH subway / Bus station:
- Take the Light Rail to Liberty State Park. From there, take the shuttle bus to the ferry slip.
From Journal Square, Jersey City:<br />
- Take the PATH subway to Exchange Place in Jersey City. Then take the Light Rail to Liberty State Park. From there, take the shuttle bus to the ferry slip.
Local Streets:
- Take Kennedy Boulevard south to Communipaw Avenue. Make a left onto Communipaw.
- Follow Communipaw east to Grand Street. Make a left onto Grand Street.
- Continue on Grand under the Turnpike. Just past the Sunoco Station, make a right onto Pacific Avenue.
- Go up to Johnston Avenue. Make a left onto Johnston Avenue.
- Johnston Avenue runs into Liberty State Park.
From Manhattan:
Public Transportation:
- Take the PATH subway to either Pavonia/Newport or Hoboken.
- From there, take the Light Rail to Liberty State Park. Both the Light Rail and the PATH subway run frequently during the day.
Driving Directions:
- Take to Holland Tunnel.
- From there proceed straight to the New Jersey Turnpike.
- Exit at 14B
- After tolls, take a left and proceed straight, past circle, on Morris Pesin Drive.
- Just before the final parking area on Morris Pesin Drive, make a left onto Freedom Way
- The closest parking area to our section will be the parking area on the right.
